Ricco Deruta Majolica Italian Ceramic Multi-Use Jar Canister
Handcrafted in Deruta Italy 🇮🇹
Ricco Deruta is a traditional ceramic collection made in Deruta, a hill town and comune in the province of Perugia in the Umbria region of central Italy. Deruta remains known for its ceramics and as the centre of refined majolica products. The local clay is perfect for ceramics, where production began in the early middle ages, but found its artistic peak in the 15th and early 16th century, with highly characteristic local styles of majolica. Deruta, with Gubbio and Urbino, continue to produce some of the finest Italian majolica.
The Ricco design, meaning 'rich' in Italian dates back to the Renaissance. This classic Ricco Deruta pattern that reflects acanthus leaves and flowers is inspired by Perugino's paintings, one of the most important Italian artists of the 6th century.
We have handpicked gorgeous pieces to be made in Deruta Italy especially for Piccola®. These pieces are all handmade and hand painted by talented artisans and are the result of authentic and original ceramic craftsmanship that have been produced by the family business for over 50 years.
